Former British Superbike champion Tommy Hill is set to make a dramatic return to the sport after hanging up his leathers last year.

Hill, of Beckenham, claimed the 2011 British Superbike title riding for Swan Yamaha, but left the track to concentrate on his graphic design company after becoming disheartened with the sport.

However, next season could see him return as the manager of a two-rider team - though it remains to be seen whether his plans go as far as jumping back on a bike.

He has been a fixture on the British racing circuit since 2004, competing in 181 British Superbike races and claiming 51 podium finishes - including 19 wins.

His last season, in 2012, saw him finish third in the Riders’ Championship, with just one victory less than overall winner Shane Byrne.

Hill’s championship victory in 2011 was the closest in history, with the Beckenham racer winning the title in the final race of the season by just 0.006 seconds.
