Beckenham’s baking star Jane was the first contestant to win the title of Star Baker as the Great British Bake Off returned to our screens last night.

The 61-year-old beat stiff competition for the opening cake-themed week, to receive praise from judges Paul Hollywood and Mary Berry.

Erith’s Rav also walked through to the next round.

Lee became the first competitor to be sent home, after three disappointing cakes failed to wow the judges.

Both Jane and Rav will be appearing in next week’s episode.
