Beckenham netball star lands place in national squad

A Beckenham schoolgirl has become of just 15 to secure a place on a national netball training programme, after beating 120 other hopefuls.
Bethany Ellis, 13, from Langley Park School, in Hawksbrook Lane, will join the Kent Netball Development Squad with the aim of joining the national team.
A part of the Langley Park netball team since 2010, Behtany plays goal defence and was nominated by the school’s sports department for the trials.
Amy Gouldsmith, Langley Park’s head of sport, said: “Bethany’s commitment to her sport is fantastic and this is a great achievement for her.
“We are very proud of what she has achieved and hope she goes on to further success.”
