Beckenham man appears in court over alleged shooting and stabbing

A Beckenham man appeared in court yesterday after an alleged stabbing and shooting in Lewisham last year.

Emergency services attended the incident, in Beckenham Hill, on August 21 at around 4.55pm, where three men were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Omar Suliman, 18, of Worsley Bridge Road, Beckenham was due to appear at Bromley Magistrates’ Court charged with possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life and violent disorder.

Another 18-year-old, Anuar Niyangaboo, of Inchermery Road, Lewisham, was also due to appear charged with the same offences - as well as assault occasioning grevious bodily harm with intent.

Two 17-year-olds were also set to appear yesterday charged with violent disorder and possession of a bladed article. A pair of 16-year-olds will appear on bail at the same court on May 28 accused of violent disorder and possession of an offensive weapon.

A further four others were arrest and will have no further action taken against them.
