EVENTS to mark the Battle of Britain including a visit to Capel Le Ferne and a garden party are scheduled to take place next month.

EVENTS to mark the Battle of Britain including a visit to Capel Le Ferne and a garden party are scheduled to take place next month.

The Biggin Hill Battle of Britain Supporters' Club, who will have a stall at the Air Fair next weekend and have planned a range of events to mark the 69th of the RAF's sustained effort against the Luftwaffe in WWII.

On July 12, supporters will go on a trip to Capel Le Ferne in Kent to visit the Battle of Britain Memorial opened by the Queen Mother on July 9, 1993. Then, on July 19, member Gordon Wright and his wife Suzanne will host a special garden party from 2pm at the home Eureka in Buckhurst Road, Westerham Hill.

Entry is £6 and includes a light buffet and soft drinks. A raffle will take place and there will be wartime artefacts on display.
