Parents were in for a shock when they collected their bruised and battered children from a drama class.

Luckily they had only been taking part in a workshop with a professional make-up artist who showed them how to create realistic looking cuts for dramatic effect.

Youngsters from Stagecoach school in Manor Way, Beckenham, found the experience on December 31 ‘very exciting’, said principal Jill Schaverien.

She added, “It was quite extraordinary how real the casualty makeup looked and we had great fun fooling the parents when they came to collect their battered children.”

Acting, singing and dancing classes take place on Saturdays at Harris Academy, Manor Way, Beckenham.
