Awards night fun for film club fans

FILM makers stepped out on to the red carpet when they held their very own alternative Oscars ceremony.

FILM makers stepped out on to the red carpet when they held their very own alternative Oscars ceremony.

Cinephiles from the Orpington Video and Film Makers held the awards night on to recognise their own achievement and to coincide with the Film Academy bash in Los Angeles.

All of the winning films will be shown at a special showing at St Paul's Church, Orpington, on March 24.

The winner of Best Drama Film was director Chris Coulson, who scooped the award for his film Consequence.

Well known film maker Derek Allen won both Best Documentary and Film of the Year at the ceremony on March 2 for his film about local magician and entertainer John Styles MBE.
