A MAN who hit a man on the head with a hammer attack during an argument has escaped a custodial sentence.

Scott Hutson, 20, of Prestwood Close, Plumstead Common, was handed a 12 month sentence suspended for 18 months for attacking a man leaving him with a fractured jaw and needing four stitches.

He has been ordered to attend an Agression Replacement Training Programme and carry ouot 250 hours unpaid work as well as paying the victims £500 compensation.
