Arrests made after aggravated burglary in Beckenham

Detectives are continuing their appeal for information.

Two men were arrested yesterday following an aggravated burglary in Beckenham.

On October 9 three men called at the property, in South Eden Park, at 7.30am claiming to be police officers.

After entering, they assaulted the 49-year-old homeowner and stole cash before leaving.

During the burglarly, the men claimed that they were from the “special fraud squad” and “terrorism, customs and excise”.

Two men, aged 63 and 47, were arrested in east London on suspicion of robbery and false imprisonment and both currently remain in police custody at a south London police station.

Det Sgt Gary Head, said: “I would urge anyone who either witnessed this incident, or who has information to get in touch immediately.

“This offence was clearly well planned and there is a very strong chance that there are people out there who know something about this offence.”
