An arrest was made after police uncovered a huge cannabis factory.

Bromley Police executed a search warrant at a property in Albyfield, Bickley, at 7.30am on May 15 and found more than 400 plants being grown.

They found that every room in the four bedroom house had been set up to grow cannabis and that the mains electricity had been diverted to produce it.

A 23-year-old Albanian national was arrested on suspicion of cultivation of cannabis after he was found hiding in the loft of the house.

Inspector Darren Murphy said: “Cannabis production is not only illegal but also generates other crimes and affects people’s lives and all those associated with it negatively. We have completed a number of very successful pro-active policing operations in relation to premises being used for the production of cannabis and we will continue to focus our resources on tackling this crime. “I would urge any members of the public with suspicions about any houses near to where they might live or work to ring their local Safer Neighbourhoods Team or alternatively contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800555111”.
