Award is given to the UK’s most promising apprentices

Two apprentice tailors from Bromley have been shortlisted for an award.

Joe Holsgrove, 20, from Chislehurst, and Dionne Reeves, 29, from Penge, are both in the running for the Golden Shears Award, which is given to the most promising student or apprentice tailor in the UK.

The pair are both apprentices with Savile Row tailors - Joe with Denman & Goddard, and Dionne with H Huntsman & Sons.

Some 25 students have been shortlisted by a panel of prominent tailors, including the head of couture at Vivienne Westwood.

The winners will be chosen by a celebrity panel which includes supermodels David Gandy and Jodie Kidd, fashion designer Betty Jackson and actress Jennifer Saunders, and will be announced at a ceremony next Monday.
