A 20-YEAR-OLD woman was seriously sexually assaulted as she walked through a park in the early hours of the morning.

The victim was making her way across Betts Park, Anerley, at around 2.40am last Sunday (August 9) when she was attacked.

The suspect, a black man of medium build, wearing a dark jacket with no top on underneath, was seen running off in the direction of Anerley Road.

A police spokesman said: "We are appealing for anyone who may have been in or near the area at the time to come forward."
