Warren Forgie, 23, of Shroffold Road, was sentenced to three years and four months in prison when he appeared at Maidstone Crown Court on Tuesday April 24.

He was sentenced after pleading guilty to possession of a bladed article in a public place, and possession with intent to supply both crack cocaine and heroin.

The court heard how Kent Police had received several reports of anti-social behaviour connected to an address in Alexandra Road, Sheerness.

On Tuesday March 13 at around 5pm two officers attended the address, and once inside Forgie attempted to run through the back of the house and into an alleyway.

However, an officer was in the alleyway and upon seeing Forgie shouted to him to stop while blocking his path.

Forgie ignored the officer and pushed her face as he ran towards her, causing her to fall to the floor before she ran after him along with another colleague.

After a short chase he was arrested.

When Forgie was searched a knife was found inside his jacket pocket as well as a large quantity of cash, and a further search also revealed a bundle of drugs wrapped inside his sock.

He was charged the next day.

Investigating officer, Det Con Stuart Clayton said: “Forgie didn’t think he would be greeted by Kent Police officers that day and luckily for us was in possession of not only a knife but also a quantity of drugs.

“He assaulted an officer when attempting to get away and didn’t care about any injuries he may have inflicted.

“Kent Police works tirelessly to stop criminals in their tracks and I’m pleased we were able to charge him and ultimately put him behind bars where he cannot sell drugs within Kent or Medway.”
