Almost 200 arrested in Cray crime crackdown

Knives, drugs and dangerous dogs seized

Police in Cray Valley have arrested some 182 people during a six-week operation.

Officers executed 10 drugs warrants and seized knives and other offensive weapons, class A drugs, two dangerous dogs and property thought to have been stolen.

The breakdown of arrests was as follows:

Burglary – 19 people

Breach of bail /recall to prison – 25 people

Drugs – 18 people

Public order offences – 17 people

Offensive weapons – 7 people

Sexual offences – 5 people

Assaults – 32 people

Theft from motor vehicle – 4 people

Theft of motor vehicle – 10 people

Allowing to be carried in stolen vehicle – 1 person

Theft – 14 people

Being on an enclosed premises – 3 people

Criminal damage – 8 people

Traffic offences – 8 people

Other – 11 people

Officers also held crime prevention events advising people on how to protect themselves and their valuables.

Thirty-five people were fined for traffic offences and eight vehicles were seized as the drivers were uninsured.

Chief Inspector Darren Murphy, from Bromley Police, said: “These results are very positive.
