A ROCK band has been chosen to tour in a BBC showcase introducing the best of Kent's talent.
Bromley band Freshman will be taking part in the BBC Kent Introducing tour throughout this month.
The initiative gives unsigned British artists the chance to perform in a variety of venues and to be featured on national and regional radio as well as major events like Glastonbury and the Electric Proms. The band are due to kick off the tour tomorrow in Maidstone before performing weekly at venues in Tunbridge Wells and Canterbury. Freshman, made up of Mark Harrison on vocals, Richard Hodges on guitar, Rob Riley on bass and Andy Woodard on drums, have been together since 2004 and have been successfully gigging throughout London and the South East since then.They are also due to perform next Thursday at the BBC Radio One Big Weekend Fringe Festival in Earls, Maidstone.
BBC Kent's Unsigned show producer and presenter James Bursey said: "Freshman are one of my favourite Kent bands. Their music is energetic and memorable.
