24-year-old arrested following fatal collision in Chislehurst this morning

Taxi driver aged 52 dies in crash with car in Royal Parade
Detectives are appealing for witnesses and information following a fatal collision in Chislehurst in the early hours of this morning (Friday).
Police were called to Royal Parade with the junction of Bromley Road at approximately 3.30am to reports of a collision between a car and a taxi.
London Ambulance Service and London Fire Brigade were called to the scene.
The driver of the taxi, a man aged 52, suffered critical injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Next of kin have been informed.
Formal identification and a post mortem examination will be scheduled in due course.
The driver of the car, a man aged 24, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing death by careless driving. He remains in custody at a south London police station.
Detectives from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit based at Catford are investigating.
