SOME 1,000 shop workers are set to lose their jobs after a clothing chain went into administration.
Bay Trading, which has stores in The Glades shopping centre in Bromley, The Mall in Bexleyheath, and Bluewater, Dartford, has been sold to the Loomba family which owns the Rinku Group, and already control brands such as Tigi-Wear, Viz-a-Viz and iZ.
But the sale will only save 566 jobs, 45 stores and 85 concessions.
The company employed around 1,800 people when it went into administration in late April.
