A Bromley councillor has resigned, causing a by-election on May 3, the same day as the London Assembly and mayoral elections.

Diana MacMull, a Conservative member for Bromley Town ward, is resigned because of personal commitments.

She is soon getting married and will move to Sevenoaks. She has also recently become a grandmother.

Anyone wishing to stand as a candidate should deliver a nomination form to the Returning Officer by 12pm on April 4.

A full list of candidates will be published on April 10.

Postal vote applications close on April 18 and the proxy vote deadline is April 25. Poll cards will be sent out shortly.

Polling stations will be open from 7am to 10pm on May 3.
