AN incredible new production from the Chinese State Circus will be running at The Orchard from today until Sunday.

The esteemed organisation has named its new live acrobatic spectacular Mulan, in honour of a warrior monk.

It promises a breathtaking fusion of precision acrobatics, Shaolin martial arts and dazzling circus skills.

Two of the most colourful characters from Chinese mythology guide you through the inspiring and heroic story of a strong-minded country girl who joins the emperor's all-male army in place of her father, and leads them to save her nation from invasion.

Watch the graceful aerial sensation performed high above the ring on silken strands, flying acrobats, gravity defying gymnastics, the leaping, rolling somersaulting repertoire of the hoop divers and the skill and syncopation of the immaculate Diablo artistes.

In total there are seven showings over the four days including a 5pm matinee on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

There is also a 2pm showing and an 8pm start time on each of the four days. For more information or to book tickets visit www.orchardtheatre.co.uk or ring the box office on 01322 220 000.
