A TOWN centre venue is to turn into the infamous Moulin Rouge for an evening when the UK's top burlesque troop comes to town.

The Hurly Burly Burlesque show is due to appear at the Woodville Halls, Gravesend, on September 25.

A blend of cabaret, variety and traditional and neo burlesque, the group has built up a reputation as one of the hottest acts in the UK.

Their regular shows at the Soho Revue Bar in central London have won them legions of adoring fans.

Taking its inspiration from the look of Hollywood stars of the 1940s and 50s, the show harks back to an age of decadence and glamour and mixes saucy choreography with tongue in cheek comedy mingled in with a large dose of good old-fashioned tease.

Topping the bill is the Queen of Leicester Square, Miss Polly Rae.

One of the country's best known burlesque performers, Miss Rae has been featured on The Alan Titchmarsh Show, Channel 5 News and The Paul O'Grady Show.

She has also performed regularly for lingerie retailers Agent Provocateur and opened the Prima High Street Fashion Awards.

The evening will be run cabaret-style with table service bar drinks available.

The show is for over-18s only and tickets are £12.

For more information or to book tickets, call the Woodville Halls box office on 01474 33 77 47.
