AN AMATEUR dramatics group is preparing for its first production of the year.

The Meopham Players will be performing an original play, Breaking the Habit, from February 25 to 27.

Described as a "domestic comedy with serious undertones" the piece has been written by committee member Terry Fairhead.

Mr Fairhead, who has also written Change of Life for the group, explained that the story followed a single mother and her teenage daughters.

"It is about a slightly dysfunctional family," he said. "I think it is funny in places but in the second half there are some pretty dramatic scenes" he added.

The three performances will be in the village hall on Wrotham Road at 8pm

Tickets are available at £6.50 for adults 5.50 for concessions, call 01474 814 582 to order.
