A NEW play commissioned by the National Theatre is to be performed by teenagers for two nights at The Churchill, Bromley from next Tuesday (March 17).

As part of the New Connections project at the National Theatre, The Churchill Youth Theatre will perform Heartbreak Beautiful at a specially constructed studio space on the main stage.

The fast-paced play, performed by youngsters aged between 14 and 18, follows the growing pains of pupils at St Barts.

The youth theatre will then perform the production at Hapstead Theatre next month and if selected will perform as part of the National Theatre's festival of new writing for young people.

New Connections is an annual initiative, run by the National Theatre, which gives teenagers across the UK the chance to perform a new script in their home venue, present the production to an NT Staff Director, and perform it at a New Connections Partner Theatre.

Heartbreak Beautiful runs from 17-18 March at The Churchill. Tickets are available by calling Ticket Sales on 0870 060 6620 or online at www.ambassadortickets.com/the-churchill (booking fee applies).
