A YOUTH theatre group is staging the classic Shakespearean comedy A Midsummer Night's Dream at the end of the summer.

Stretch Theatre will perform the old-school rom-com from October 1 to 3 at the One With Grace church and community centre on Hawley Road in Dartford.

Stretch Youth Theatre works with young people from all over North Kent and helps them to re-engage with life through theatre.

Theatre director Richard Gregg said: "Stretch takes on Shakespeare at his most magical. The story of mismatched lovers chasing each other through the woods is set against the backdrop of Magic and mayhem.

"The king and queen of the fairies are arguing and the poor mortals rehearsing a show for the upcoming wedding of the Duke of Athens get caught up in the mischief. But the love knots are untied and each find their perfect match."

For tickets, priced £6, call Stretch on 01322 620649.
