Charles Darwin’s former home Down House is reopening for the summer season on Sunday, as a new film is released about the scientist’s life.

The Pirates! In an adventure with scientists tells the story of the evolutionist’s famous voyage, work and family life complete with adventure, a dodo and the voice of Dr Who star David Tennant.

Down House, near Orpington, is offering families the chance to find the truth about Darwin with exhibitions, reconstructed rooms, artefacts, interactive displays and tours.

There will also be an Easter trail for children over the holidays, offering prizes for the winner.
