A tribute to Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers is heading to Bromley

A brand new stage show celebrating the queen and king of country, Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers, is heading to Bromley next month.

Islands in the Stream features some of country music’s biggest hits, including Jolene, Ruby, 9 to 5, Lucille, I Will Always Love You, Here You Come Again and The Gambler.

The performers and band are dedicated to recreating the original duo’s sound and have recorded an album of original songs in the style of Dolly Parton to sharpen up their act.

Three of the outfits worn by the night’s female lead are exact replicas of Dolly’s iconic outfits, custom-made for the show.

Producer Michael Taylor said: “The star of the show is a master of stage craft, Dolly’s unmistakable phrasing is closely reproduced, bringing Miss Parton’s distinctive vocals and loveable personality to life.”

Kenny Rogers is played by a Stars in Their Eyes winner whose solo show has appeared at venues across the UK and around the world, from Dubai to St Lucia.

“Both leads revel in Dolly and Kenny’s famed warmth and humour,” Mr Taylor added.

The show will be at Bromley’s Churchill Theatre on Sunday, August 14 at 8pm.
