Tinie Tempah on wish to be the anti-Plan B of rap

Tinie Tempah wants to be the first good boy of hip hop - to make his parents proud.

The ‘Pass Out’ singer wants to represent side to hip-hop because he comes from a good home and is very close to his parents.

His wish is in stark contrast to the common narratives of rap music.

Artists in the genre regularly brag about dealing drugs on streets, murdering rivals and sleeping with multiple partners.

Such storylines often continue long after the stars have moved to luxury mansions far away.

Tinie said: “I’m incredibly close to my mum and dad. Even to this day I call them Mummy and Daddy.

“I was well brought up, my parents are still together. When people listen to hip-hop, they think everybody’s from a broken home, that it only appeals to people from broken homes and those on drugs.

“But the majority probably do live with their mum and dad. They probably do go to good schools, and I just want to represent that.”

The fashion-loving rapper also said his ideal woman has a great sense of humour and the looks to match, but his real winner is a regional accent.

Tinie admitted to More! magazine: “I’m a sucker for a pretty face. And a sense of humour, because I like to crack a joke.

“I think Yorkshire girls are beautiful, their accents as well... It’s easy on the ear. I like it.”
