Account executive Andy Morton was asked by ITV’s Red or Black hosts Ant and Dec what he would spend his money on if he won the jackpot prize, to which he replied a Crystal Palace season ticket at Selhurst Park.

Unfortunately, the 26-year-old failed to guess correctly when he appeared on the show on Wednesday of last week.

But kind-hearted club bosses said they wanted to give him a season ticket at Saturday’s home clash with Middlesbrough to cheer him up.

Mr Morton, from East Grinstead in West Sussex, said: “It is an absolutely fantastic gesture from the club and it has really helped to give me a lift after the disappointment of losing.

“I look forward to going down onto the pitch at the game during half-time and receiving the season ticket.”

Show contestants have to guess the outcome of challenges and stunts. Mr Morton had been taking part in the show since June before sitting at the wheel in the live show.

He said: “I applied online and then started filming at Wembley Arena at the beginning of June before a further shoot at Thorpe Park a few weeks later.

“I then knew I was into the live programme stage and was at the studios all day last week, ready for the show with the other contestants on the night.

“I was keen to get across my love for the club together with my wish to be able to purchase a season ticket with the winnings.

“This tremendous news from the club means I can now attend every home league game and the colours of red and blue will hopefully be a winner even if black was not on the night.”
