For most pop stars down with the kids, having a stuffed shirt such as a politician be your fan would be a horrifying thought, but not so for Plan B.

The rapper reckons it would be “cool” if Prime Minister David Cameron likes his new album.

The politically charged musician - who penned his last single Ill Manors about the London riots - would be surprised and impressed if the UK leader is a fan of his work, but it wouldn’t make him want to meet him.

Plan B - real name Ben Drew - told Shortlist magazine: “I think it would be cool if he liked [the album]. You can’t treat politicians like they’re some alien race. But obviously I wouldn’t go straight back and say I really like David Cameron too.”

The She Said star worked all hours to complete his latest LP, also called ill Manors, and he relied on vodka mixed with energy drink Red Bull to keep him going.

Speaking about the recording process, he added: “Vodka. Red Bull. That’s [how I coped]. I lived in the studio for six weeks. The day before the album had to be finished there were three songs that weren’t done.

“One didn’t even have lyrics. So I was up all night, smashing the vodka, writing and re-writing. I went a bit mental, to be honest.”

Plan B also released a film called Ill Manors - his directorial debut - this year. The movie is a British crime drama which focuses on gritty inner-city London life.
