Kylie Minogue on Jason Donovan reunion at Stock Aitken and Waterman concert: ‘It will be a laugh’

Kylie Minogue has said it is likely to be “surreal” when she is reunited with Jason Donovan at the Hyde Park concert to celebrate the hits of Stock Aitken and Waterman.

The Australian pop princess was speaking as she picked up a special award to mark her 25 years in the charts.

She accepted the gong at the 02 Silver Clef Awards in central London in aid of music therapy charity Nordoff Robbins.

The star said she was looking forward to being reunited with former Neighbours co-star Donovan, but added: “I don’t know what it’s going to be like, I think it will be a laugh, it will be quite surreal for sure.”

Minogue said she was “thrilled and honoured” to be recognised for her work.

Speaking backstage, she said: “It makes me proud, really proud. I can definitely see with some distance what’s gone well, what hasn’t gone well, the journey that I’ve been on, what I’ve learnt.”

Minogue said it was “hard” to express her gratitude to the music industry and added there was “more to come” from her.

She said: ““I feel like I’m just hitting my stride. I’m lucky enough to still have different opportunities, new challenges.”

Also recognised at the awards were Andrew Lloyd Webber (lifetime achievement), Jessie J (best British act), Michael Buble (international prize), DJ Fatboy Slim aka Norman Cook (Investec Icon Award), Emeli Sande (innovation award), Manic Street Preachers (ambassadors of rock) and McFly (best live act).
