The star - who was a huge fan of the last series of the Channel 5 show - entered the house last night.

Martin is the short odds favourite at 2/1 with the bookmaker Paddy Power.

Funny man Julian Clary and fellow ex-’EastEnders’ star Cheryl Fergison are close behind at 7/2 and 4/1 respectively.

Last night Martin insisted he was determined to take the crown.

The Spandau Ballet star said: “If you’re going to go in there, you have to go in to win. I’ve got a plan but I’m going to give it my best shot.”

The line-up also includes former ‘Jersey Shore’s Mike ‘The Situation’ Sorrentino, ‘Coronation Street’ star Julie Goodyear, Simon Cowell’s former girlfriend Jasmine Lennard, comedian Julian Clary, and rapper MC Harvey.
