Lest we forget…

DOZENS of war veterans marched through a town centre to mark Armistice Day. Scores of medals were on show as current and former servicemen paraded through Orpington town centre on Tuesday before taking part in a short remembrance service and a two minute silence at 11am.
This year is the 90th anniversary marking the end of WWI which claimed over 20 million lives.
Veterans Henry Allingham, 112, Harry Patch, 110, and William Stone, 108, are the only known surviving servicemen from the 1914 to 1918 conflict living in Britain.
Remembrance services were held at war memorials across the borough last Sunday, including Bromley, Orpington and Beckenham.
