The man behind this summer’s Games will now have a little bit of Haringey hanging in his home after three Tottenham primary school pupils presented him with a portrait of himself.

Stamford Hill Primary School’s Imani George, Lindona Sokoli and Serhat Kinali joined Haringey artist Nicola Green present Lord Sebastian Coe with the picture they collectively worked on as part of a unique Olympic 2012 project, OOOOOH ART.

Lord Coe, chairman of the London Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games (LOCOG), had been so impressed with the portrait when he saw it a couple of months ago that he took time out of his busy schedule to meet with the Year 6s.

Ms Green said: “I wanted the kids in Haringey to feel connected to this inspiring time in this city’s history, and to show them how they could use photography, drawing and painting to tell their own stories of what the Games mean to them.”

OOOOOH ART is at Bruce Castle Museum until September 23. Visit www.ooooohart.blogspot.com for more details.
