A SPECIAL summer fair with dozens of stalls and rides is due to take place next Saturday, June 14, to mark the 75th anniversary of a village association.

Hayes Summer Fair, sponsored by the Bromley Times, has taken more than a year of planning to make the event bigger and better than ever before. This year's special event celebrates the 75th anniversaries of Hayes Village Association, Baston Girls' School, Baston Road, amateur dramatic society Hayes Players and Hayes branch of the Royal British Legion.

With more than 80 stalls, the fair is too large to be held at its usual location at Hayes Library Gardens, and has therefore moved to Baston School. Village Association spokesman, Stuart Howe, said: "We have planned a great afternoon for visitors of all ages. There will be something for everyone, with stalls, sideshows, games, displays and entertainments on offer, super raffle prizes, and refreshments on sale throughout the event. It will be a great day out for the whole family, and help us once again to support deserving charities." The event takes place from noon until 4.30pm.

n Anyone who would like to help with the setting-up, running, and dismantling of the fair should contact Peter Harrold on 020 8462 1736 as soon as possible.
