Kent all-rounder Marcus Stoinis hailed his side’s Vitality Blast T20 win over Hampshire, after combining with Adam Milne to skittle the hosts for 88.

Heino Kuhn (29) and Stoinis (26) were the top scorers as Kent made a modest 139-7 from their 20 overs.

And that proved more than enough as Stoinis (4-17) and Milne (3-14) reduced Hampshire to 20-5, before Joe Denly (2-14) wrapped up victory with the last two wickets.

“That was a bloody good victory. That is actually one of the best bowling performance victories that I have been a part of,” said Australian Stoinis.

“We thought we were a touch below par, but were still just about in the game, but we also knew we had a good bowling attack and were confident.

“I kept saying to the boys I knew this was a good competition but every batter that kept coming out was a bloody good batter.

“They are a really good side so I am really proud of the boys.

“It feels good. You just want to contribute to a team and it is good to get some wins.

“Me and Adam know each other pretty well and we are getting to know each other even better.

“As overseas players it is important to contribute and work together and influence the games as much as we can.”

Kent return to Canterbury to host Gloucestershire on Sunday (3pm).
