An eleven-year-old boy from Bromley will be taking to the stage next month alongside an international celebrity.

Joel McDermott will be performing at the SSE Arena in Wembley alongside former Pussycat Doll Nicole Sherzinger.

The youngster, who was diagnosed with a brain tumour in 2013, loves to sing and has started to play piano.

Later this month, he will be performing at The Rays of Sunshine Concert.

The evening sees a group of 15 brave children suffering from serious illness all perform on stage.

Other celebrities joining them on October 24 will be Shawn Mendes, DNCE, X Factor winner Louisa Johnson, Conor Maynard, Lawson and more.

X Factor judge Nicole Scherzinger met Joel ahead of the performance, which will see mre than a thousand seriously ill children in the audience.

“It was an absolute pleasure to meet Joel, he’s such a brave and inspiring young boy.

“I can’t wait to take to the stage and help Rays of Sunshine brighten the lives of many more brave and deserving children.
