Youngsters from Perry Hall Primary School, in Perry Hall Lane, Orpington, were treated to a reading by former children's poet laureate Michael Rosen on Monday.

The writer explained how he goes about writing his poems, before encouraging the children to do the same.

Mr Rosen then stayed after school to sign copies of his books in the library.

Headteacher Angela Ward said: "It was a fantastic day, really brilliant.

"Michael was like a living version of one of Quentin Blake's illustrations. Every single thing he said or did was funny, and the children were spellbound."

Mr Rosen also read pars of his new book, Michael's Big Book of Bad Things.

Having a brand new kitchen is something that lots of people want but can only dream of. Sadly keeping up to date and making our living spaces as nice as they can be is a costly and incredibly stressful business. Even a fresh coat of paint makes all the difference but isn’t easy or quick.

Who wouldn’t love the chance to go on a shopping spree. Imagine being able to walk into a shop and choose whatever your heart desires without having to worry about how much it costs.
