Person dies after being hit by train at Orpington station

A man died after being hit by a train at Orpington station on Friday night.

Emergency services were called to the station, in Station Approach, just after 10pm - but the victim was pronounced dead shortly after.

The death is being treated as non-suspicious by British Transport Police, who are preparing a report for the coroner’s office.

Services between Hither Green, Bromley South and Sevenoaks were delayed after the incident.

Any witnesses are asked to call the British Transport Police on 0800 405040, quoting reference NSPIS of 8/11/2013.
