The MP visited organiser Jim Taylor’s celebration for his neighbours and joined in the fun, which included a food, music, face painting and a bouncy castle.

Jim, 85, said: “It was great he came along, it was nice to see him. He shook hands with everyone.”

“The day’s gone really well. There was a queue of children at the gate at 10am to have a go on the bouncy castle, three hours before we opened. We are hoping to wear them out so we adults can have our own party later on.”
