Now is your chance to nominate an inspirational teacher for a Kent Teacher of the Year Award.

Anyone who works at a school - paid or unpaid - can be nominated, and anybody can nominate.

The judges will choose winners from each Kent borough, plus Bexley and Bromley, in the following categories: primary teacher; secondary teacher; newly qualified teacher; non-teaching staff and volunteers.

The winners will be invited to an awards dinner in May.

Simon Dolby, an organiser of the awards, said: “We started these awards to recognise the expertise and dedication that is the hallmark of an outstanding teacher.”

He added that a good teacher can change someone’s life and shape their future, yet teachers remain undervalued and overworked: “We hope we can do our bit to give a confidence boost to nominees and winners, and remind them that people do appreciate them.”

To nominate someone, visit by March 1.
