Late night homes blackout

A MIDNIGHT power cut left thousands of homes in the dark for hours. A fault at a main substation caused more than 2,000 homes to lose electricity at 11.40pm last Thursday.

A MIDNIGHT power cut left thousands of homes in the dark for hours.

A fault at a main substation caused more than 2,000 homes to lose electricity at 11.40pm last Thursday.

The black-out lasted until 2am the next day, but some homes were left without power for more than three hours.

Electricity suppliers EDF Energy apologised to customers for the inconvenience.
