A 17-YEAR-OLD yob who stabbed a man was sentenced to five months in jail and given a five-month supervision order.

The Petts Wood youth, who cannot be named, was arrested on January 27 after police were called to an incident where an 18-year-old had been stabbed in Crown Lane, Bromley, in the early hours of January 26.

The injured man was taken to the Princess Royal University Hospital, Farnborough but discharged himself later the same day.

At Croydon Crown Court last Thursday, the youth was given a 10-month Detention and Training Order (DTO) after pleading guilty to wounding with intent.

A DTO can be given to youths aged between 12 and 17, with sentences lasting between four months and two years. The first half is spent in custody while the second is served in the community under supervision of the youth offending team.
