Two Bromley police officers who saved the life of a jogger whose heart stopped will be praised on the BBC 999 Awards show tomorrow (Thu).
A thank you message will be played from Gavin Boyce, who was training for the London Marathon, to Pc Jess Hallybone and Pc Ed Inglis.
On January 8 the officers were in a private car in Danson Road, Bexleyheath and saw two men near railings, one was slumped on the floor.
They started chest compressions and he started breathing, but stopped after 10 seconds. Paramedics arrived who began defibrillation while the officers carried on chest pumping.
Mr Boyce was seriously ill in hospital for more than a week.
Bromley Sgt Philip Spaul said: “Jess and Ed’s quick and professional actions saved Mr Boyce’s life.”
Beckenham MP Bob Stewart has called for a change to the Human Rights Act following the murder of a soldier in Woolwich yesterday, allowing Britain to deport those who vocally denounce the country.
