Free advice on dementia will be provided to help improve care

The Understanding Dementia event is to be held at an Orpington care home

Free advice on dementia will be available at an Orpington care home next week to help people improve their care of loved ones living with the condition.

Dementia specialist Dr Nori Graham will visit Foxbridge House to help people understand what it is like to live with the disorder, while information on memory loss and how to overcome communication barriers will also be provided.

Everyone who attends will have the opportunity to ask questions and discuss their own personal experiences, and there will also be a chance to meet carers and take a tour of the care home.

Carol McCormack, home manager at Foxbridge House, said: “At Foxbridge House we strongly believe professional knowledge, insight and shared experiences can make a real difference to the everyday lives of those caring for loved ones living with dementia.

“With the team here committed to offering advice and practical support, we are delighted to be welcoming Dr Nori Graham to this event.

“We look forward to being joined by members of the Orpington community for what promises to be an interesting and inspiring afternoon of information and guidance.”

The care home, which is located on Sevenoaks Road, will be open from 2pm to 4pm on Thursday, October 13.
