A man who tried to perform a forced exorcism was jailed last week.

Abduo Hakakzada tried to perform the religious practice by forcibly holding his victim against their will in October last year.

The 43-year-old from Bromley admitted to charges of false imprisonment and causing actual bodily harm.

On October 28 last year, Hakakzada, along with another man, stopped their victim leaving a room for three hours.

Hakakzada held the victim down in his Bromley home, causing injuries to their wrists, arms and legs, while another man tried to pour liquid from a bottle into the victim’s mouth.

The second man has never been identified.

Last week Hakakzada, of Darent House in Brangbourne Road, was handed a two year prison sentence as well as a restraining order against the victim.

CPS London reviewing lawyer, Mavis Ramkissoon, said: “It was an inescapable fact that Hakakzada’s victim did not want to take part in this religious purification process, trying to escape several times but being forcibly restrained.

“Nobody should be imprisoned and subjected to an assault and anyone who has been a victim of this kind of violence in any context should not hesitate in coming forward.”

Who wouldn’t love the chance to go on a shopping spree. Imagine being able to walk into a shop and choose whatever your heart desires without having to worry about how much it costs.
