Murder probe after man, 71, found dead in Bromley, south London

Murder detectives are investigating the death of an elderly man whose body was found in Bromley, south east London, on Sunday morning.

Police were called shortly after 10.30am to Cambridge Road following reports of a firearm and weapons at the address, where they found the body of a 71-year-old man.

Ambulance crew pronounced him dead at the scene. His cause of death will be determined by an as yet unscheduled post mortem examination. Next of kin have been informed.

A 30-year-old man remains in custody at a south London police station after being arrested near the scene on suspicion of murder.

Police said no firearms had been recovered and stressed there was nothing to suggest any had been used.
