A Met police officer has been dismissed after he wrote a false statement relating to an incident in Bromley High Street which saw fellow officer Marcus Ballard push a 16-year-old boy through a window.
Ballard was subsequently found guilty of assault and has now left the force.
An investigation by the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) found that Ballard’s colleague’s description of the event, which occurred in February 2010, did not match CCTV footage.
He was dismissed without notice at a gross misconduct hearing, which concluded on July 4.
A Bromley man is one of 10 Millwall supporters charged with violent disorder last week, after fights broke out during the FA Cup semi-final against Wigan Athletic at Wembley last month.
