A 31-year-old man suffered a serious head injury after falling down the stairs of a bus when it braked sharply.

He knocked himself out and was taken to Kings College Hospital where he was placed in an induced coma following the incident in Beckenham High Street last night (Wed).

Emergency services were called at around 7.50pm and the road was cordoned off until around 10.30pm while forensic officers investigated.

The victim has now regained consciousness.
