A Chislehurst school has welcomed its first new head teacher in 15 years.
Babington House School, in Grange Drive, welcome Tim Lello to carry on the work of Deborah Lee-Bailey, who received an OBE in the New Year’s Honours list.
Mr Tello has spent the past eight years as deputy principal of Queens College, in London.
He said: “Babington House, as I am sure you know, is an outstanding school in every way and my biggest challenge is to maintain its development, so as to ensure our boys and girls receive a first class education in a nurturing and supportive environment.
“We select children on their all-round ability, personal qualities and special talents – I happen to think everyone has some - as well as their academic potential.
“Once here, they are expected to surpass their own expectations. It is amazing what young people will jump over if you set the bar high enough.”
BBC Radio DJ Chris Evans flew into Biggin Hill Air Field today in a Lancaster Bomber to mark the 70th anniversary of the Dambusters raid.
