Walnuts shopping centre, Orpington, will be celebrating the Chinese New Year.

The shopping centre has engaged with a Chinese Gateway community group to provide everyone with an authentic Chinese New Year celebration.

This will include a Chinese Lion Dancer from the Chinese Theatre in London, a Chinese choir and lots more.

Because it’s the year of the dog, a dog show will be hosted for all the pampered pooches, with the help of Orpington Pet Supplies at the shopping centre.

The event will also feature tempting Chinese stalls, serving fresh, hot and delicious food to keep you warm.

There will be plenty of fun opportunities for children, including the opportunity to take part in free Chinese inspired craft and receive a “lucky” red envelope, as tradition dictates.

The event will end with a wonderful fireworks display.

It will take place in the Market Square of Walnuts Shopping Centre, from 1 to 6pm on Sunday, February 18.
