A SUMMER fate with a funfair, stalls and maypole dancing is due to take place on a village green.

The Chislehurst Rotary Summer Fair, sponsored by the Times, takes place this Saturday on the common just up from the Queens Head pub.

The fair is free to attend and organisers expect hundreds to attend the popular annual event, with all proceeds going to charity.

Organiser Tony Wells said: "We've managed to squeeze in some extra stalls this year and the grand draw should be the best ever.

"The fair is a real community event and we have put in an order for sunshine too. The prices in the beer tent are also a major attraction."

The event takes place from 10am until 4.30pm.
